About us
The Harmony Historical Society (HHS) was established in 1972 and includes both the towns of Harmony and North Harmony. HHS manages the museum campus at 1943 Open Meadows Road, Ashville, NY 14710 which includes the Harmony-North Harmony History Center, an 1800s period home and schoolhouse, weaving shed, tool barn, sawmill and more situated on an over 30 acre campus with walk-able nature trails. We actively collect and preserve photographs, documents, diaries/journals, ephemera, etc. that relate to the history of the Harmony/North Harmony area and make that history available to the community through public programs, special events, social media, and school programs.
Mission Statement
The aims of the Society shall be to aid in the preservation and development of local history of pioneers and early settlers of the Towns of Harmony and North Harmony, and its adjoining area and communities; to acquire and save for public use and exhibition relics, pictures, maps, and articles of historic value, dealing with the economic, political, patriotic, and cultural life of the community, and to cooperate will all other organizations having similar aims and purposes.

The Harmony Historical Society is funded by the towns of Harmony, North Harmony, membership fees, fundraising events and private donations.

Meetings
- Business meetings are held the first Tuesday of each month at 6:00 PM at HHS.
- Program meetings are held the third Tuesday of the month (no program meetings in winter)
